US 22/PA 145 Interchange Reconstruction Project in Whitehall Township, PA
Welcome to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's US 22/PA 145 Interchange project website.
The US 22/PA 145 Interchange Project involves the reconstruction of PA 145 (MacArthur Road), the PA 145/MacArthur Road Bridge over US 22, and the US 22 Interchange ramps. The project is located in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The Interchange will be reconfigured to eliminate the current meshing movements on the US 22 on/off ramps, and provide traffic signals on PA 145/MacArthur Road at the new ramp locations. The project will also provide a wider bridge over US 22 with sidewalks on both sides and improved vertical clearance over US 22.
The project is designed to improve traffic flow for the 87,000 vehicles traveling US 22 and the 38,000 vehicles traveling PA 145/MacArthur Road each day. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2012 and continue through the end of 2013.
